sunday newspaper coupon inserts

When to Buy Newspapers for the coupons

Are you new to couponing or a dedicated coupon clipper, we have some tips that will help you decided when you need to buy newspapers.

First, let’s discuss the basics. There are three main companies that put out inserts: SmartSource (SS), RedPlum (RP), and Procter & Gamble (PG).

Holiday weekends such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s, Easter, and Labor Day tend to have fewer or no inserts. In comparison, the first weekend of the month often has the most inserts.

We suggest getting multiple copies of newspapers, this in the long run will help you get better deals. Example if we have a coupon that will allow us to get the item for free, having 5-6 coupons is much better than only having one.

When to get fewer Newspapers

There are specific times that we suggest only purchasing one or two newspapers.

The first would be a holiday weekend, we will only get one insert . There are a few times a year when no coupon inserts are scheduled for release.

Next only buy one or two papers when you notice the coupons are not really appealing to items you buy.

You can find your Sunday coupon preview  here.

When to stock on newspapers.

If there will be numerous inserts or inserts filled with your favorite coupons, it’s the time to stock up! Look into picking up additional copies at the store or newsstand (make sure to check your local Dollar Tree to see if they carry $1 Sunday newspapers!) If you don’t want to shell out extra dollars, try asking friends, family, coworkers, and neighbors for unused inserts (perhaps in exchange for some of the freebies you’ll score)!
